Latest updates and requests from Alastair & Helen…
St Patrick's outreach. What can I say? It was an amazing week with such a great team of participants from USA, Canada, The Netherlands, Hong Kong and UK. The team bonded so well with some who have been before and others new to Ireland. We had training relating to the special Patrick Story material that the churches we were working with were using. Three tracts highlighting different aspects of Patrick's story with questions; Who am I?, Where do I belong?, and Who is God, really?
The team split into four smaller teams and for four days the towns of Athlone, Ballinasloe, Gort, Loughrea, Roscommon and Tullamore were covered in prayer and tracts! Ministry included being in St Patrick's parades, doing door to door, street evangelism and prayer ministry, practical work, and serving the church where needed.
On the sightseeing day one of the cars was in an accident. Four of our St Patrick's team were injured. Other team members gathered around them, prayed for them and started praising God. It gave an opportunity for the team to share with the emergency crews! After a few hours in the nearby hospital, praise God that the four all returned back to Lacken House by the end of the day. While waiting for the injured to be seen and treated at the hospital, others shared the tracts, prayed for people, and shared the gospel.
Although a traumatic end to the week, each person left talking of God's goodness throughout the week, and with a heart to pray for those they met in Ireland.
This month, we will be joined by a small youth team from Sweden. Nem, our interim director, has just attended the International Leaders Meetings in Malaysia; we look forward to hearing more about OM's work around the world. The move to Xledger has gone well for the finance team, and they have help as they work through some issues.
Family: Ruairi & Callum have some practical state exams this month, as well as getting back into chess, football training and matches. Pray for Alastair as he coordinates logistics for over 50 U16s. Alastair is also coordinating chess competitions this month. Hannah & Daniella are enjoying their training and matches with Longford Town. Alisha is coming to the end of her research placement and end of her degree. Pray for wisdom as she makes decisions about her next steps.
